Your time in the limelight
The Theatre Royal, built in 1907, survived the Christchurch earthquakes. Just. Previous and extensive strengthening work helped save the historic building from total collapse.
Restoring and reconstructing the theatre began on 2nd July 2012. This signaled the start of a two-year repair project with a cost of $40 million.
A significant anchor of the rejuvenation of the arts community in Canterbury, the theatre re-opens her doors on 17th November 2014. As part of the rebuild the Stalls and Dress Circle levels will be fitted with wonderful new seats.
On the back there will be a brass plaque and an opportunity to engrave these with individual names, corporates or, maybe, simply a quote.
Naming a seat would make a unique gift for Christmas, birthdays and a memorial to a loved one, or an opportunity for your business to show support for the Isaac Theatre Royal and our ongoing fundraising.
You will receive a special certificate commemorating your generosity and confirming your seat location.
The Theatre Royal Foundation is a charitable organisation. An official receipt will be issued for all donations. Donors will be entitled to a tax rebate or refund equal to one third of the total donation.
