The Isaac Theatre Royal is pleased to be a venue for the 2016 NZ International Film Festival.
The New Zealand International Film Festival returns to Christchurch from 28 July for two and a bit weeks of movie celebration at our grand Isaac Theatre Royal.
The full line-up for Christchurch encompasses over 100 features and documentaries curated by a team of programmers who attend premier festivals in North America, Australia and Europe, as well as selecting from submissions received from around the world. World premieres of many New Zealand films will screen as well as New Zealand premiere screenings of every film shown.
Determined to break last year’s record audience, the New Zealand International Film Festival has put together a stellar line-up.
For two weeks from 28 July, the Isaac Theatre Royal becomes a high-tech cinema with an exceptional soundsystem and a procession of directors showcasing their films.
Christchurch ex-pats Tearepa Kahi and Phil Keoghan (of Amazing Race fame) will be here to talk about their fantastic new works, Poi E and Le Ride respectively.
Another highlight will be the one-off live cinema event where the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra will play the scores for Harold Lloyd’s Safety Last! and Charlie Chaplin short, Easy Street.
