Showbiz Christchurch presents

Cats

April 13–28, 2007

ITR Auditorium

Showbiz Christchurch continues to bring the world's top musicals to the stage in Christchurch, and 2007 will be no exception, with the staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical CATS.

A consortium from New Zealand, led by Showbiz Christchurch, has been among the first non-touring/professional organisations world wide to obtain the rights to perform this show, arguably the most popular and successful stage musical ever written.

CATS has all the elements of great theatre – superb music, spectacular dance choreography, and wonderful costumes and characters. The story of a fascinating and diverse group of cats gathering for the "Jellicle Ball" has been skilfully drawn from TS Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats", and woven into a sophisticated production which has been seen by over 50 million people world wide since its launch in London in 1981.

A touring version of CATS attracted sell out crowds around New Zealand in 1995, but now the people of Canterbury have the chance to see the NZ Premiere of an all new, full stage production in the newly refurbished Isaac Theatre Royal. And what better night to open this show - Friday the 13th of April 2007!!

To accommodate the huge interest expected for this show, the Ticketek Box Office will be opened early, with a range of seating and pricing options including Family Tickets and Student Specials. CATS is a special show, and likely to be a Sell-Out!
