“If music be the food of love, play on…
In a world first, Tui-nominated songwriter and award-winning composer Paul McLaney and the producers behind Fly My Pretties brought together a roll-call of high profile NZ musicians to perform Shakespeare’s most well-loved soliloquies as a song cycle, premiering at the Pop-Up Globe in Auckland.
Now, to celebrate the release of the ‘Play On’ album, they bring the acclaimed show to Christchurch.
Featuring Julia Deans, Ria Hall, Maisey Rika, Paul McLaney, Fran Kora (Modern Maori Quartet), & Mara TK (Electric Wire Hustle), alongside a three–piece band and the EDIN string section.
This musical imagining of Shakespeare’s great soliloquies is co-presented by Loop and the Isaac Theatre Royal.
