Back by popular demand, The Isaac Theatre Royal are teaming up with Canvas Bag Drama School to present an exciting three-day Intensive School Holiday Drama Workshop!

Dates: Tuesday 26th April – Thursday 28th April 

Time: 9am – 4 pm

Place: Isaac Theatre Royal, 145 Gloucester Street, Christchurch Central

Group 1: 7 – 10 years – WAITLIST

Group 2: 11-13 years  – WAITLIST

 

Cost: $225 incl GST (workshop lunch additional)

Wear: Comfortable clothing

These workshops are designed to challenge children & teenagers with new ideas about acting and performance. Immerse yourself and learn improvisation skills through a selection of high energy and fun games. Dabble in musical theatre including voice work and contemporary choreography in the beautiful surroundings of the majestic Isaac Theatre Royal.

This April the course will be split into three age groups; 7-10yrs, 11-13yrs and 14-17yrs. The 7-10 group are going to explore the magic within drama, imagining creative role-plays about magic and developing characters. The 11-13 group will be exploring improvisation, characterisation, and rehearsal tools. The 14-17 year-old group will explore the magic of special effects, which will include stage combat, highlighting movement-based techniques to tell the story.

The workshop will take place over three days culminating in a showcase of what the students have been working on, performed on the Isaac Theatre Royal stage!

You’ll supply energy, a willingness to learn, and bundles of imagination!

Workshop lunch is sorted! Take the hassle out of organising and pre-purchase a healthy, delicious lunch for only an additional $15 per day.

Lunches include: a substantial savory item, piece of fresh fruit, a sweet treat and a choice of drink (bottled water, Charlies orange juice pouch or Charlies blackcurrant & apple juice pouch). All dietary requirements will be catered for. 

Participants are welcome to bring their own packed lunch.

  • I consent to Canvas Bag and the Isaac Theatre Royal using any photos/video/artwork created during the workshops to be used in any Canvas Bag or Isaac Theatre Royal promotional materials in both print and electronic media, such as websites and social media.
  • Students will have a 30 minute supervised lunch break, so why not take the hassle out and pre-purchase their lunch pack for only $15 per day! (Tick either first day, second day, third day, or all days)
