Fri 25 March 2022
Isaac Theatre Royal

In “I wish someone would call”, Valency explores the powers of signals, transmission and connection points. This collaborative sound & dance performance piece is an assimilation of multi-sensory experiences combining movement, poetry and sound.

On the day when the weight deadens on your shoulders and you stumble may the clay dance to balance you. (John O’Donohue)

At the heart of Valency are dancers Denesa Chan, Quique Miller, Jac Coia and Bina Iris. Exploration into remnants of bodily experiences is central for achieving purity and rawness of expression and allows the poetic work to evolve from a place of utter presence.

Valency Multi-sensory Ensemble is co-created with additional artists including dancers Jenny Postles, Emily Napolitano; poets Nicolas Wollaston, Karen Phelps, Jac Coia; musicians & sound artists Helen Greenfield, Marianne Pringot, Nicolas Woollaston, Malcom Riddoch, Bryn Chapple; multi-sensory consultant Jo Burzynska. Costumes Ella Van Beynen.
