A misunderstanding over petrol payment propels them into a wild chase with the police. Their reckless escapades become media headlines, making them nationwide heroes. Along the way, they pick up Shirl, whose claims of virginity add to the comedic chaos.
As the trio evades the police through Wellington’s streets and buildings, a hilarious escape ensues, leading to a new life inside a railway freight wagon. Their unstoppable journey involves selling pieces of their iconic yellow car and facing eccentric collectors and false accusations.
